The event runs from 5:40 a.m. to 2:40 p.m., operated by the Whatcom County Ferry Division. This is the first of three punch card sale events scheduled for the second quarter of 2026.
The Lummi Island Ferry, operated by Whatcom County Public Works, is the only public transportation link between Lummi Island and the mainland. The ferry makes the short crossing between the Gooseberry Point terminal on the Lummi Peninsula and the island-side dock, carrying vehicles, cyclists, and foot passengers throughout the day. Multi-ride punch cards offer regular riders a convenient way to pay for crossings in bulk rather than handling cash for each trip.
When both punch card sales and exchanges are taking place at the same event, riders should plan for two separate lines: one for new card purchases and one for card exchanges. If only one purser is staffing the event, punch card sales will be given priority. Riders with cards to exchange are encouraged to arrive early or budget extra time in case of longer waits during peak periods.
The remaining punch card sale dates for Q2 2026 are Wednesday, May 13 and Wednesday, June 3. Both events will also run from 5:40 a.m. to 2:40 p.m. at the island-side terminal. Riders who miss today's event will have two more opportunities before summer.
